Email: query-btra@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: SC Magazine

Deadline: 12:00 PM EST - 3 February

Query:

I am working on an assigned report for SC Magazine, "Keep
Ransomware from destroying your company (especially SMBs),"
which focuses on the ransomware problem but (hopefully) from a
fresh angle (see below). I am looking for views and comments on:
* How to address a ransomware attack from the beginning * The
pluses and minuses of actually paying the ransom. * How to
ensure your backups are safe to restore and your network is free
from any residual ransomware * How to make sure you
work-from-home employees are not bringing their own disasters as
well as their devices, and what kinds of strategies work best
against an attack that normally requires someone to take some
kind of action. * Despite all the training and education, we
still get ransomware. What parts of training are just not
working? *With WFH, how have these attacks changed? * What's
the difference between an attack on a corporate network vs. the
cloud - since WFH users are now attached to a lot of cloud
services? * How is IoT impacting ransomware attacks? * Can
deception technology be used to lure ransomware attacks away
from valid targets? IN ADDITION, I am trying to avoid "just
another" recitation of best practices. I'm interested in
out-of-the box comments about things that have worked and
interesting anecdotes

Requirements:

n terms of sources, I would be very interested in systems
architects, lawyers, risk managers, compliance managers, SOC
analysts - as well as CISOs. I am happy to work with written

If you are a parent of a child who was admitted to an elite
preschool in NYC and would like to share some anonymous (or
named) insights, please let me know which preschool your child
got into, what part of NYC the school is in, your best advice
