report that coffee drinkers were nearly 7 times less likely to
have high blood pressure than non-coffee- drinkers. Why? Do you
find this surprising? Why or why not?
Please comment on why a little bit of coffee is good, but not
too much. Also, what's the "sweet spot"--one cup? Two cups?
2. Adding Flaxseeds Adding 2 12 Tbs. of ground flaxseeds to
your daily diet can bring a 10-point drop in systolic BP (the
top number) and a seven-point drop in diastolic BP (the bottom
number)--better results than you'd expect from prescription
meds. Please comment on this? Why do you think this is the
case? Any suggestions on incorporating Flaxseeds into your diet?
Bonus: There's evidence that the alpha linolenic acid (an
omega-3 fatty acid) in flax helps the brain form and cement the
neural pathways that boost memory and mood regulation. Please

3. Best supplement: Grapeseed extract Polyphenols in grapeseed
extract keep arteries elastic and ease inflammation that can
lead to high blood pressure. Supplementing with 150 mg. of the
extract each day dropped blood pressure by 11 points in a mere
four weeks. Please comment on this? Why do you think this is the
case? Any suggestions on incorporating Grapeseed extract into
your diet?
Researcher from Mount Sinai School of Medicine reporting in The
Journal of Neuroscience found that compounds in grapeseed
extract (catechin and epicatechin) reduce memory decline
associated with Alzheimer's. Do you find this finding
surprising? Why or why not?
