Media Outlet: Rosie Bell - BBC Travel
Deadline: 7:00 PM GMT - 30 November
Query:
Hi there, For BBC Travel I am looking into the topic of
Nigerians as overachievers and the "Nigeria never comes last"
mentality. I'd like to get some insights as to why there is so
much emphasis in Nigerian culture to be educated/ successful/
etc. Are there any historical/ cultural reasons?
I would love to hear from a) Nigerians who would like to share
any anecdotes and stories relating to this and b) any Nigerian
culture writers, travel writers, scholars or sociologists to
weigh in.
Requirements:
Please reply with an answer to this query and I'll be in touch
if I use your quote or have any further questions. Thanks in
anticipation.
