1) Summary: Agile Businesses: How Businesses Pivot and Stay Relevant In The Face of Disruptive Technologies

Name: Yitzi Weiner & Doug Brown Authority Magazine

Category: High Tech

Email: query-bm3s@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: Authority Magazine

Deadline: 7:00 PM EST - 31 December

Query:

Dear Friends Authority Magazine is starting a new series about

Agile Businesses: How Businesses Pivot and Stay Relevant In The
Face of Disruptive Technologies. Full description here
https://bit.ly/3fN6wqr

At Authority Magazine we ran a series about new disruptive
technologies. We would now like to focus on the other side of
the coin, "How Agile Businesses Pivot In The Face of Disruptive
Technologies".

New technologies have disrupted established industries. For
example, Airbnb disrupted the hospitality industry. How has the
hospitality industry pivoted to this disruption? TurboTax
disrupted the accounting industry. How has the accounting
industry pivoted tp this disruption? Uber has disrupted the
mobility industry. How has the mobility industry pivoted to this
disruption? Robinhood has disrupted the financial industry. How
has the financial industry responded to this disruption? Urgent
care clinics have disrupted the medical industry. How has the
medical community pivoted? And so on...

We would like to interview CEOs and business leaders from an
industry that is being impacted by a disruptive technology, and
hear their strategies about how to pivot and stay relevant. We
would particularly like to hear from leaders in any of the
industries mentioned above. (Hospitality , accounting, mobility
, finance, medical.)

The interview series will have two stages.

All of the full interviews will be published in Arianna
Huffington's Thrive Global and Authority Magazine, and they will
look like the following:

featuring the ideas from the best interviews will be submitted
to Buzzfeed and Entrepreneur.com, like these we have done:

Individuals who are accepted for this series will be featured in
at least 2 - 4 articles.

Yitzi Weiner, Kristin Marquet and Charlie Katz will be the
primary leads for the series. Most interviews will not require
phone interviews and can be done by email. Requirements:

18) Summary: Seeking Entrepreneur Journeys

Name: Sheldon Chi One Million by One Million

Category: High Tech

Email: query-bm5u@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: One Million by One Million

Deadline: 7:00 PM EST - 1 December

Query:

Hi, My name is Sheldon Chi. I am responsible for coordinating
stories for the 1Mby1M blog [1mby1m.com]]. The Entrepreneur
Journeys (EJ) series is our flagship series and we're looking
for interesting companies with at least $5 million in annual
revenue to feature in lengthy feature stories. We are interested
in interviewing the entrepreneur who can and is willing to
discuss, at length, the nuances of the strategy and process of
company building, spanning topics such as bootstrapping,
financing, positioning, customer acquisition, channels, team
building, etc. To pitch, please provide revenue level, industry
(Our interests: E-Commerce, Cloud Computing, SaaS, Mobile,
Social, Big Data, IoT, FinTech, Digital Media, Gaming,
Healthcare IT, Online Education, etc.) and focus of the story
angle in terms of company-building experience. We use the
revenue level as a qualification criterion for selecting
entrepreneurs to profile. We don't necessarily have to publish
this number in the actual story. The Entrepreneur Journeys
series has already produced 12 books
(http://tinyurl.com/4p4phwy). You can see examples of the series
on our blog (http://tinyurl.com/d8m9mt). This blog is part of
the One Million by One Million global initiative, whose aim is
to help a million entrepreneurs reach $1 million in annual
revenue. We also use the EJ interviews as case studies to teach
other entrepreneurs how to navigate the entrepreneurial waters.
You get publicity, as well as a platform to share your lessons
from the trenches with a large number of aspiring and practicing
entrepreneurs. 1M/1M has syndication relationships with many
venues: HBR, Xconomy, SmallBizTrends, EconomicTimes (India),
Women 2.0, Mashable, Huffington Post, Business Insider,
ReadWriteWeb, and several other sites. Articles we develop
through these interviews often get repackaged for the
syndication partners. The 1Mby1M blog was named by Forbes in the
Top 100 Blog for Entrepreneurs (http://onforb.es/1a6RkOs). The
procedure is to have a one-hour interview by phone or in-person
in Menlo Park, at our office. We will provide the dial-in for
phone interviews, and the address for the in-person interviews.

Requirements:

When you send in your pitch, please be sure to include the
revenue level, as it is the primary criterion we use to select
stories. Unlike other entrepreneurship media, we do not look for
financing as a criterion for determining story worthiness. Also,
if your revenue threshold is below the $5M level currently, you
are welcome to email me, and I will check if your story might
fit in any of our other series. To give you a flavor, here are
some of our other ongoing series: The 1M/1M Deal Radar: Revenue
between $1M and $5M, high growth rate. We typically do email
interviews for this series. Thought Leader Interviews: We also
have Thought Leader Series opportunities in Cloud Computing,
Cyber Security, Mobile and Social, Big Data, Outsourcing, Online
Education, e-commerce, Gaming, Online Fashion, HealthcareIT,
Internet Of Things, etc. These require, however, that the
company has a minimum of $5M in revenue.

In TLAI, we interview thought leaders in the artificial

great products, or executives at large companies with unique
perspectives on how the industry is evolving. We discuss trends,

21) Summary: Are AR and VR the Future of Remote Working?

Name: Matt Alderton USA Today

Category: High Tech

Email: query-bm75@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: USA Today

Deadline: 8:00 PM EST - 3 December

Query:

The coronavirus pandemic has catalyzed a fundamental and
permanent shift in the workplace toward remote working and
virtual meetings. But Zoom fatigue is real. People miss
interacting in person and in spaces other than their home office
or kitchen table. Fortunately, technology has an antidote:
virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). There are
platforms, for example, that allow users to create immersive 3D
meeting environments where they can interact around a virtual
conference table with virtual whiteboards. Other solutions use
AR to provide remote work assistance and knowledge training.
We're just seeing the tip of the iceberg. I'm writing an article
for USA Today about the next generation of remote working that
will be powered by AR and VR. As part of my reporting, I'm
looking to hear from 1) companies that are creating and
pioneering solutions, 2) companies that are using such
solutions, and 3) thought leaders who are familiar with the
space and can analyze emerging trends. Note: Listed deadline is
deadline for receiving pitches; interviews will take place
subsequently. No phone pitches, please.

Name: Matt Alderton USA Today

Category: High Tech

Email: query-bm76@helpareporter.net

Deadline: 8:00 PM EST - 3 December

Query:

Thanks to COVID-19, cleanliness and hygiene are more important
than ever to U.S. consumers. As a result, hotels, airports,
sports venues, convention centers and others have sought new
cleaning accreditations and certifications. Meanwhile, consumers
and businesses alike are spending huge sums on new cleaning
technologies, from cleaning robots to high-performance HVAC
systems. I'm writing an article for USA Today about all of this
and more -- how the pandemic has changed our expectations around
cleanliness in our homes and businesses; how it has turned
cleanliness into a driver of consumer behavior; and how it has
inspired new tools, technologies and processes for cleaner
indoor environments. To help me with my reporting, I'm looking
to hear from 1) companies that are pioneering new cleaning tools
and/or methodologies, 2) consumers and businesses that have
embraced new standards of "clean," and 3) cleaning
experts/thought leaders who can share and analyze cleaning
trends. Note: Listed deadline is the deadline for receiving
pitches; interviews will take place subsequently. No phone
pitches, please.
