Dear Friends Authority Magazine is starting a new series about

"How I Was Able To Pivot To A New Exciting Opportunity Because
Of The Pandemic" Full description here https://bit.ly/34HhdXK

The COVID19 pandemic has disrupted all of our lives. But
sometimes disruptions can be times of opportunity. Many people's
livelihoods have been hurt by the pandemic. But many people saw
this as an opportune time to take their lives in a new direction.

We would like to interview and feature people who were able to
pivot and take their careers and/or lives in a new exciting
direction as a result of the disruption of the pandemic.

The interview series will have two stages.

All of the full interviews will be published in Arianna
Huffington's Thrive Global and Authority Magazine, and they will
look like the following:

featuring the ideas from the best interviews will be submitted
to Buzzfeed and Entrepreneur.com, like these we have done:

Individuals who are accepted for this series will be featured in
at least 2 - 4 articles.

for the series. Most interviews will not require phone
interviews and can be done by email. Requirements:

18) Summary: After the pandemic, should remote workers get a pay cut?

Name: Alex McCord Forbes

Category: Business and Finance

Email: query-bjq4@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: Forbes

Deadline: 7:00 AM EST - 18 November

Query:

Looking to hear from business leaders / C-suite on their views
concerning remote worker pay.

As home workers can relocate to more affordable areas and don't
have to cover the cost of a commute, some argue they should be
paid a lower salary based on where they live (and the cost of
living there) rather than where head office is.

But others argue they should be paid more because remote workers
are covering the cost of using their homes as offices (heating,
lighting, water, etc) and employers are saving on office space.

What are your views? Please send me comment of around 150 words
with your full name, pronouns, business + website, number of
employees and a link to your LinkedIn profile (crucial).

While I won't be able to reply to every comment, rest assured
that I do read them all and you don't have to do any chasing!
Thank you in advance to all those who reply.

31) Summary: Overcoming the stigma of one-way video interviewing

Name: Keith MacKenzie Workable Resources

Category: Business and Finance

Email: query-bk4f@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: Workable Resources

Deadline: 8:00 AM EST - 18 November

Query:

If you're in HR and/or recruiting, you've probably heard about
or even used one-way video technology. And you probably know
about candidates' frustrations and negative impression about
one-way VI tech. Common complaints from candidates include:

1) It's incredibly impersonal and disrespectful to the
candidate. It's dehumanizing. It sends the message that "you're
not worth my time".

2) It "automates" the recruitment process in a way that benefits
only the recruiter at the expense of the candidate experience.

3) Recruiters/HR get to "channel surf" through candidates - so
you'd better be really good-looking and/or charismatic to get
them to stop and watch your video. It triggers more bias than
ever before.

4) It triggers performance anxiety at a time when a candidate
needs to feel confident and assured and showing their best
selves. That anxiety people feel leaving a voice mail? Same
issue but worse for VI.

5) "I don't want to work for a company that can't even give me
the time of day for a real interview..."

6) "It's easier to reject me if you never have to 'meet' me".

7) "This is worse than a screening call. I don't get to ask you
questions about the job or about the company itself."

7) And the best one I saw online: "I just want them to scan our
foreheads now and get this over with. It reminds me of the old
sci fi movie 'Gattaca' where 100 years in the future, your
station in life will be determined by a drop of blood."

The list just goes on and on. If you're using one-way video
interview tech, I want to hear your go-to strategies that help
the candidate feel better about it. Sample questions to get you
started:

1) What was the challenge before you took on one-way VI
technology and how was it solved by the technology?

2) In the spirit that "every solution creates a new problem",
what new problems did you experience using one-way VI technology?

3) What are you doing to overcome that?

I am especially interested in insights around employer branding
and candidate experience.

Please do include the following details - your full name, job
title, company, size/location/industry of company, current
hiring status (are you scaling your hiring, are you in a hiring
freeze, etc.), and so on.

Written answers are the best way to go, but I may follow up for
more details. The most interesting and insightful answers will
go into a new article to be published in Workable's Resources
site for the benefit of recruiters and HR practitioners
everywhere. Points for creativity and actionable items. Thank
you in advance!

Requirements:

1) You are a recruiter/HR practitioner actively using one-way
video interviewing technology.

2) You are doing this for a SMB or even an enterprise-level
company.

1. Are states continuing to leave out social equity in its
bills? If so, why? 2. Does New Jersey's recent bill being pulled
represent any sort of progress? 3. What happens in New Jersey

cannabis program? Do you consider any to be adequate? 5. What
should be included in state marketplaces and their social equity
parameters? 6. How can someone let their lawmakers know they
want social equity in their cannabis bills?

Deadline: 7:00 AM EST - 20 November

Query:

States like New Jersey appear to exclude home growing from their
proposed legal framework. I'd like to explore why this is the
case.

Please provide analysis to any of the following:

1. Why do states leave home cultivation out of regulatory
frameworks? Is the exclusion purely over profit and tax revenue?
2. What would you consider to be adequate home grow parameters?
3. What would be a fair system? 4. Are there any states that
have implemented adequate home grow laws? Will any come from the
most recent states to pass ballot initiatives? 5. Do you/your
business oppose home cultivation? Why or why not?
