3) Summary: New payback timeline for Medicare Accelerated Payment -- how does it affect providers?

Name: Roy Edroso Part B News

Category: Business and Finance

Email: query-be40@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: Part B News

Deadline: 7:00 PM EST - 18 October

Query:

The Medicare Advance and Accelerated Payment Program, which made
loans to providers that were originally to be repaid in 120
days, will now allow providers to pay later -- after one year,
over 11 months CMS will recoup 25% of the loan, and in the six
months that follow they will come for 50%.

Good news -- how should providers and practices react?

In there any reason they might consider paying sooner anyway,
perhaps by floating a low-interest loan, such as the CARES Act
Provider Relief Fund, which has just announced a third
distribution?

Does the change in repayment terms change their tax status or
liability at all?

Thanks, Roy Edroso Part B News https://pbn.decisionhealth.com/

Requirements:

Experts in Medicare and COVID-19 related financial programs such
as the CARES Act provider relief fund payments and the Advance
and Accelerated Payment Program

consumers otherwise might not be able to pay?

22) Summary: Cyber disaster recovery planning for the end times

Name: Pam Baker Dark Reading

Category: Business and Finance

Email: query-be68@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: Dark Reading

Deadline: 7:00 PM EST - 20 October

Query:

That's not the real headline for this article but it's the gist.
Seeking comments from people who manage crises, people in
disaster recovery, people who are cyber incident responders,
analysts, consultants and other professionals -- on whether 2020
has caused you to make changes to your response plans. When it
looks like the end of times, what does the response plan look
like?

Now that we're looking at an election, more political upheaval,
civil unrest in some cities, nation state interference, growing
unemployment, a continuing pandemic, a long list of natural
disasters, deaths by ransomware, and who knows what else, are
security pros writing new playbooks to prepare for the worst? If
they have, how are they changing things? If they haven't, maybe
there isn't a story here. But I'd like to know either way.

Please email me your complete comments with quote attribution

Name: Pam Baker TechTarget

Category: Business and Finance

Email: query-be6e@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: TechTarget

Deadline: 7:00 PM EST - 19 October

Query:

Contact tracing in offices, businesses, restaurants and other
workplaces is yet another learn-as-you-go phenomenon. This guide
will be a look at what some companies are doing and how well
various processes and technologies are working. Looking for
sources who can speak credibly and knowledgeably on these issues
and/or provide facts, trends, guidelines, first-hand experience,
studies, analysis, and related information.

This guide will be balanced - for example, not just presenting
certain processes/technologies as only beneficial but also
discussing downside and tricky areas. Seeking sources who can
reveal pros and cons of these processes and technologies.

This is obviously such a complex issue. But I'm doing my best to
give readers an idea at least of best practices while also
informing them of the complexities. To this end, please outline
themes and best practices clearly where applicable in your
comments.

Please email complete comments with quote attribution and
contact info.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Media Outlet: Anonymous

Deadline: 2:00 PM EST - 19 October

Query:

MultiLingual Magazine is looking to profile the people who work
in localization jobs that have nothing to do with language. Yes,
that's right: Not everyone who works in the translation industry
is a translator. Shocking, we know, which is precisely why we're
featuring all the other people who make localization go: TMS
coders, translation salespeople, the person who writes that LSP
blog.

A different member of the loc community will be profiled every
issue as part of an ongoing column. To participate, respond with
a quick note letting us know what you do, where you work, and if
this is your first job in the localization industry (veterans
and newbies both welcome).

NO project managers, translators, interpreters, or buyers,
please! The outside world already knows you're there. We're
looking for jobs that could be done in multiple industries, with
a focus on why you do your job in loc.

Thanks!

Requirements:

Must be willing to complete an emailed questionnaire (5-6
questions about your background, why you do your job in loc as
opposed to another industry, etc) within one week of receipt, as

27) Summary: How can smaller businesses go carbon neutral?

Name: Esther Schindler Economist

Category: Business and Finance

Email: query-beai@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: Economist

Deadline: 7:00 PM EST - 20 October

Query:

Lots of big companies are making grand pledges to go
carbon-neutral (or even carbon-zero, removing historical
emissions). It is feasible for a smaller company (that is,
businesses that'd never be described as "enterprise")? Is it
worth it? How do you do it?

If you're on this path -- or tried to be -- tell me about your
journey. What did you do, and what was the outcome? What advice
would you offer to other small and medium sized businesses that
want to accomplish this feat?

(This is a business process story, so there isn't much
opportunity in this article for vendor mentions. But if you are
active in the space, your execs likely have the expertise to
speak to what customers have done, successfully or otherwise. if
you're a vendor whose smaller customers used your product in an
effort to go carbon-neutral, feel free to pass along the
request. By definition, those are the folks DOING this stuff.)

I'd also like to hear from people in the scientific community on
the topic. What's different for small and medium-sized
businesses that are trying to go carbon neutral?

Email only. Don't even suggest a phone call.
