1) Summary: What happens when my 0% APR period ends?

Name: Brian O'Connell FoxBusiness.com

Category: High Tech

Email: query-b7rk@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: FoxBusiness.com

Deadline: 7:00 PM EST - 3 September

Query:

I'm working on a story for Credible/Fox Business on what happens
when a 0% APR credit card period ends?

We'd like to get these questions answered in the story:

1. What is a 0% APR introductory period?

2. Why should a cardholder be aware of when a promotional card
offers ends? What is the upside in doing so (and the downside in
not doing so?)

3. What is the typical length of the promotional period, what it
means for purchase cards and balance transfer cards, etc.?

4. How does a cardholder find out when the intro period will
end?

5. How can a cardholder find out what their interest rate will
be after their intro period ends? (Also, what are the average
credit card interest rates these days?) 6. What if the
cardholder has a balance after his/her 0% APR period ends?

7. What does a promotional rate ending date mean for purchase
cards and balance transfer cards, penalties/fees they may incur,
if this affects their credit score, etc.?

I know this is a lot to answer. Feel free to answer any one or
more of the queries above - that would be a big help.

Thank you!

Requirements:

Credit card experts, credit experts, debt and budget experts,
money managers, actual credit card holders who have gone through
the promotional rate process

2) Summary: Paid Off Your Credit Card? Here's What to Do Next

Name: Brian O'Connell FoxBusiness.com

Category: High Tech

Email: query-b7rp@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: FoxBusiness.com

Deadline: 7:00 PM EST - 3 September

Query:

Hi Folks,

I'm working on a story for Credible/FoxBusiness on what
financial steps a person should take after he/she pays down a
large credit card balance, and it's now at zero.

Obviously, that's great news to financial consumers - having
zero debt on a big credit card. But what should that person do
next? That's the crux of the story.

We're looking to answer these questions in the story:

1. What's your very first move to make after paying down large
credit card debt? And why?

2. What other actions, short- and long-term, should a financial
consumer take after freeing up cash and paying down a big credit
card? And why? (i.e., mortgage debt or refinancing, student loan
debt, etc.)

3. Should the cardholder start paying down other credit card
debt first (need an explanation of debt avalanche here.)?

4. With credit scores boosted from paying down card debt, should
a consumer take out a personal loan to consolidate debt? Why or
why not?

5. Any other comments on the topic you may have?

Thanks so much!

Requirements:

Credit card experts, debt and budget experts, credit experts,
money managers, credit card consumers who have paid down large

Category: High Tech

Email: query-b7sn@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: Anonymous

Deadline: 7:00 PM EST - 2 September

Query:

For an article appearing on a major personal finance website,
I'm looking for personal finance and data security experts to
talk about the pros and cons of Venmo. In particular, I'm
looking to understand why Venmo is popular, how easy it is to
use, and what makes it so appealing. I'm also looking for data
security experts to talk about the vulnerabilities: Is data
still visible on Venmo? Do users still need to change options to
make their data private? Are there still any inherent dangers on
using Venmo?

Requirements:

I'm particularly interested in talking to those with an
expertise in banking, personal finance, and data security.
Please submit your ideas in your pitch, and I will follow up to
set up interviews this week.

6) Summary: Entrepreneur Journeys (Virtual Companies in Technology / Technology-enabled Services)

Category: High Tech

Media Outlet: One Million by One Million

Deadline: 7:00 PM EST - 3 September

Query:

For my Entrepreneur Journeys series, I'm looking for interesting
virtual companies in technology and technology-enabled services,
companies with at least $5 million in annual revenue. I'm
interested in interviewing the entrepreneur behind the company
who is willing to discuss the nuances of the strategy and
process of company building, spanning topics such as
bootstrapping, financing, positioning, customer acquisition,
channels, team building, etc. To pitch, provide revenue level,
industry and focus of the story angle in terms of
company-building experience. We use the revenue level as a
qualification criterion for selecting entrepreneurs to profile;
we don't necessarily have to publish this number in the actual
story. The Entrepreneur Journeys series has already produced 12
books (http://tinyurl.com/4p4phwy). See examples of the series
on my blog (http://tinyurl.com/d8m9mt). This blog is part of the
One Million by One Million global initiative, whose aim is to
help a million entrepreneurs reach $1 million in annual revenue.
We use the EJ interviews as case studies to teach other
entrepreneurs how to navigate the entrepreneurial waters. You
get publicity, as well as a platform to share your lessons from
the trenches with a large number of aspiring and practicing
entrepreneurs. 1M/1M has syndication relationships with many
venues: HBR, Xconomy, SmallBizTrends, EconomicTimes (India),
Women 2.0, Mashable, Huffington Post, Business Insider,
ReadWriteWeb, and several other sites. Articles often get
repackaged for the syndication partners. The 1Mby1M blog was
named by Forbes in the Top 100 Blog for Entrepreneurs
(http://onforb.es/1a6RkOs). I was also named as one of the top
10 LinkedIn influencers of 2015 (https://goo.gl/AN9TjS). The
procedure is to have a one-hour interview by phone or in-person
in my Menlo Park office. We publish a very long, detailed 5- to
10-part interview, so the discussion needs to be in-depth.

Query:

For our Entrepreneur Journeys series, we're looking to interview
founders who have bootstrapped their companies on top of a cloud
platform / PaaS. The company need not be fully bootstrapped, it
could be a Bootstrap First, Raise Money Later story. But the
PaaS angle is a requirement. For background, please read the
blog post, Bootstrapping by Piggybacking
(https://www.sramanamitra.com/2019/12/18/bootstrapping-by-piggybacking/).
The Entrepreneur Journeys (EJ) series is our flagship series and
we're looking for interesting companies with at least $5 million
in annual revenue to feature in lengthy feature stories. We are
interested in interviewing the entrepreneur who can and is
willing to discuss, at length, the nuances of the strategy and
process of company building, spanning topics such as
bootstrapping, financing, positioning, customer acquisition,
channels, team building, etc. To pitch, please provide revenue
level, industry (Our interests: E-Commerce, Cloud Computing,
SaaS, Mobile, Social, Big Data, IoT, FinTech, Digital Media,
