Hi--I'm looking for some feedback on Walmart+--namely, will it
work? Walmart seems pretty clear they don't want us to draw
comparisons to Amazon Prime--they're simply focusing on how to
save customers time and money. Is that fair? Or does Walmart
have to be thinking about Amazon at least on some level here?
Are the perks enough to spur customers to pay $98/year even if
they still have to hit a $35 order minimum for free delivery?
Amazon Prime has been around for 15 years and has 150 million
members worldwide--is it too late for Walmart? Or are there
still plenty of customers out there who aren't Prime members
and/or who'd be willing to pay for both? And what took Walmart
so long? One of the reporters on the conference call pointed out
Walmart retired a prior program called Savings Catcher and now
they're folding Delivery Unlimited into this ... what does that
say--if anything--about Walmart's loyalty strategy?
