Query:

I am proposing an article to the New York Times titled "Have A
Safe Trip: Maximizing Your Safety on An Airplane During the
Corona Virus Pandemic - Thinking Ahead While You're Still On The
Ground."

Air travel used to be considered to be one of the safest ways to
travel. But today, it's not just accidents that can happen -
it's Covid-19.

There are things you can do to maximize your chances of walking
out of your plane unscaved by the virus.

If you need to fly, making intelligent choices can keep you safe
and healthy. But you need to give a little thought ahead to
what you would do while you're still on the ground.

I am looking for people who have flown during the covid-19
crisis for their stories.

What the airline did or did not do to make the flight safe. And
other thoughts.

I will also interview health experts - infectious disease
physicians as well as airline representatives. I will be
interested in legalities from attorneys.

I will ask them to e-mail their thoughts for starters.

Here are some ways you can maximize your safety on a plane and
what to do in an emergency: 1. Volunteer to sit an exit row. 2.
Buckle up. 3. Really pay attention to the flight attendant's
pre-takeoff briefing. "Many commercial aircraft look similar,
but their exit and escape routes are different," says
Jacksonville aviation lawyer Don Maciejewski, 4. Be aware of
your position on the aircraft. 5. Know where the exit rows are.
"This can mean the difference between life and death in getting
out of an aircraft that might be on fire," says Maciejewski.
Here's one of Maciejewski's tricks - when you enter the plane,
tap the back of each seat from the front of the aircraft to the
row that you're seated in, so if the fuselage fills with smoke
and/or the lights go out, you can get to your nearest exit. 6.
Don't drink alcohol. In an emergency, you need to be clear-
headed. 7. If you're traveling over water, know where the life
vest is - it's usually mounted below your seat. 8. Dress for
safety. Maciejewski says the way you dress can affect your
survival. He advises wearing long pants, low-heeled, close- toed
shoes, do not wear nylon clothing that could melt into your skin
if temperatures get above 150 degrees -- wool is best -- don't
wear loose or fuzzy materials that could easily catch fire. 9.
In an emergency: Follow crew directions Stay calm. Stay low
"One of the most important things while exiting a burning
aluminum tube, such as an airplane, is to protect your oxygen
supply," says former Delta Airlines pilot Captain Rick Havard.
"This means staying low while proceeding expeditiously to the
nearest exit." 10. Smoke hoods can buy you time. They look like
an oven bag that you pull over your head -- you breathe through
a mouthpiece. "They mainly extend the time available to evacuate
the aircraft in post crash fires that are still producing much
more smoke than flame," says Wagner. "Surviving a plane crash
depends mostly on the dynamics of the accident, luck, the
general physical condition of the passenger, and in some cases
smart thinking by the passenger," adds Wagner. I will interview
airplane crash survivors, pilots, and aviation experts. Please
let me know if this article interests you, and I'll get to work.

3) Summary: The Best Travel Insurance For Business Travelers

Name: Chris Elliott Forbes

Category: Travel

Email: query-b4hl@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: Forbes

Deadline: 7:00 PM EST - 12 August

Query:

I'm researching a story about the best travel insurance for
business travelers. Many travelers are insured through their
companies. But an increasing number of unmanaged, independent
business travelers are looking for the best insurance options.
As people begin traveling again, I'd love to hear from corporate
travelers who have shopped around for the best insurance. What
did you decide on? Why did you go with that option? From
insurance experts, I'd be interested in your perspective. What
kind of options do business travelers have, post-COVID? What
should business travelers do -- and not do?

Requirements:

Please read this before answering. I'd be very grateful if you
could send an initial response to my questions by email. Please
do not respond with a note that says you would like to be
considered for this story or want to set up a phone interview
with a source. I'm happy to consider you for this story. I've
included all of my questions in this query. Please take a minute
to briefly answer them. If a phone interview is necessary, I
will follow up right away. Kindly also include your full name
and a jargon-free, brief (two to three word) description of your
company or affiliation as you would like it to appear in the
article. I will do my absolute best to acknowledge that I
received your pitch and will make every effort to let you know
when the story appears. More information on my queries can be

Deadline: 7:00 PM EST - 12 August

Query:

I'm working on a story about annual travel insurance policies. A
new survey finds that in the face of the pandemic, many
travelers are buying an annual policy to keep their travel
protections throughout the year. I'd love to hear from anyone
who has purchased an annual policy. Why did you choose an annual
policy? Where did you buy it? What are the advantages and
disadvantages, in terms of coverage? From travel insurance
experts, I'd be interested in hearing your perspective. Who
should buy an annual policy? Who shouldn't? What are the
advantages of a policy? How much should you expect to pay?
