2) Summary: Stopping Bias in the Workplace, Conscious or Unconscious

Name: Brian O'Connell SHRM.org/HR Magazine

Category: Business and Finance

Email: query-b060@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: SHRM.org/HR Magazine

Deadline: 7:00 PM EST - 11 July

Query:

STORY THEME: With social unrest enveloping the country, managers
need to stay on their toes and stop bias in the workplace,
whether employees know they're exhibiting bias or not.

Besides leaving the company open to legal liability, bias on the
job can also lead to poorer team performance, stress and anxiety
among afflicted workers, and the loss of valuable employees who
may leave for greener pastures if they feel they're being
harassed - or worse.

What can managers do to stop bias in the workplace, especially
with so many staffers working remotely? These pro-active action
steps should be in the mix.

We need to answer the following questions for the story:

1. What is unconscious bias? What are the signs of an eruption
in the workplace?

2. What are the signs - especially emerging signs of bis - in
the workplace? How can managers best identify them?

3. How can bias - even benign, unconscious bias - negatively
impact company teams and the company itself?

3. Once incidents of bias occur in the workplace, what are the
steps managers should take to protect workers and address the
problem?

4. How can companies detect signs of bias in the interview
process, i.e., stop bias from entering the company? What are the
signs of potential bias from job applicants?

5. What, specifically, is your company doing to prevent bias on
the job? Any results you can report?

Please answer all or any of the questions above and feel free to
add any extra information not covered in the questions above.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Requirements:

Workplace experts, HR managers, bias and social justice experts,
company managers, company CEO's, workers who have been

Query:

The need for information security is becoming evident with every
new data breach report. The emergence of new technologies like
virtualization, internet of things, cloud computing, IT
outsourcing, etc. has brought a challenging phase for
enterprises. Businesses can't avoid new technology if they want
to remain competitive, but they also know that new technology
means new vulnerabilities. The enhancement of security practices
like ethical hacking, penetration testing, and other methods can
help organizations combat the possibility of an attack. This has
brought increased attention to the fact that all organizations
must ensure Ethical Hacking training in their systems. In an
effort to raise awareness on the same, EC-Council Blog is
looking to experts from the industry for real-life advice and
tips on ethical hacking! In return, your name, along with your
profile will be promoted on our page that caters to current and
aspiring cybersecurity professionals from across the globe, as
well as in our global newsletter that reaches an audience of
approximately 220,000 cyber enthusiasts. Do reach out to me if
you would like to contribute toward creating a safer cyberspace
or if you have any queries!

Category: Business and Finance

Email: query-b0dj@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: Cointelegraph

Deadline: 11:00 PM EST - 10 July

Query:

Hi,

We're currently working on a piece regarding the Cardano, ADA
and the Shelley upgrade, ever since Charles Hoskinson announced
the roadmap for Shelly, the price of ADA has rallied
significantly, up more than 200% since the start of 2020. We're
looking to get insights on the following subjects:

What does this enormous price rally mean for ADA and Cardano? Is
it possible to evolve like networks like Ethereum and Ripple?

Charles compared Shelley to Ripple changing it's consensus
protocol and being the biggest thing in crypto since, will it
see that impact translate into the price as well?

What are the unique propositions of the so-called "smarter
contracts", Goguen? How would it help instituions and developers
both?

Are there any other new products on the horizon that could
provide the catalyst to this recent interest and price rally?

Please feel free to add any additional details that you feel I
might have failed to consider in relation to this subject.

For your time, we will be more than happy to add your/company
name, company/profile details in the article. However, we do not
link Twitter, LinkedIn, biz websites since we are an independent
publishing house.

Looking forward to your responses.

Thanks, Anirudh

9) Summary: Animal Crossing and small business tips

Name: Andrew Martins Business.com

Category: Business and Finance

Email: query-b0dt@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: Business.com

Deadline: 12:00 PM EST - 10 July

Query:

The story I'm working on is how small business owners can learn
from Nintendo's major video game series Animal Crossing: New
Horizons. While the island management part of the game is the
most predominant, I think it's the small
business/entrepreneurial aspect of the entire series that real
world business owners can adapt. For example, all businesses
take on debt at some point, so the idea of taking on that debt
and immediately searching for profitable ways to adapt and make
money can easily relate to any business owner. Even some of the
characters: the Nooks, the Ables, C.J., Flick, Brewster, even
Redd, are entrepreneurs that can embody different types of
business owners.

So the following are some questions I have in mind for real
world business owners that happen to also be familiar with
Animal Crossing:

-As an entrepreneur, is there anything in the Animal Crossing
series that stands out as a key tenet of running a small
business?

-Of the characters that run a shop, small business or kiosk, do
you relate to one and why? Which character would you say isn't
the best at running a small business?

-Have you picked up on any business tactics from the game or are
there any you can point out that could help a starting
entrepreneur?

-I've seen some stories of companies hosting parties and
gatherings in the game to further their brand/bring in new
customers. Is that something you've considered or think is a
worthwhile use of time?

As you can tell, this is a light hearted article, so in addition
to those questions and whatever other tidbits you're willing to
share, I would just need to know a little about your business.

Requirements:

Looking for small business owners that are familiar with Animal
Crossing enough to talk about the entrepreneurial lessons one
can learn from the series.

Query:

I am looking for hospitality professionals and cleaning products
and tool company with thought on preventative measures regarding
COVID-19 that would also be good common sense practices and
essential practices in the post COVID era.

The working outline is tentatively broken down into "Fluid
Changes" (new products and tools on the market), "A Clean Sweep"
(new techniques and practices to implement) and "Clean Cut
Employees" (Training employees).

I would like to set up an interview by phone or email with you
or an appropriate staff member: 1. Tell me about the new
industrial products for bar/restaurant use on the market that
are going to make sanitization easier (esp. ones your firm may
offer). 2. What are some good protocols to follow when
retraining your staff to keep the front and back bar sanitary?
How would you get them doing things differently and with greater
frequency automatically? 3. As some products may have particular
odors, what can be done to mitigate them? 4. Customers and staff
may be concerned about how safe the chemicals used to clean
surfaces and air will affect the environment. How do you
reconcile protecting customers and staff with environmental
impact? 5. What are some of the most overlooked areas in the
bars that aren't cleaned well enough, and how do you double back
and make sure no surface or device is left contaminated? 6. When

Category: Business and Finance

Email: query-b00m@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: Anonymous

Deadline: 7:00 PM EST - 11 July

Query:

This article will be published on a major technology company's
digital content hub (brand to be disclosed upon source
selection).

Seeking sources to offer insights on the below:

Overview: In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the way we shop
has evolved just like everything else in our lives. Stay-at-home
orders and a cautious return to public life has led more people
to shop online more often, and for more than just groceries. In
one survey, 40% of consumers said they shopped at a new website
during the pandemic.

Consumers are clicking to buy more items they would previously
have purchased in-store, where they could feel, touch, and ask
questions before making high-value purchases. People who might
have spent discretionary income on big vacations this summer are
redecorating their homes instead, or buying fine jewelry (up 35%
from the same time last year), either as sparkly pick-me-ups or
safe investments for the future. Now, as businesses begin to
reopen, millions of shoppers have grown more accustomed to
scrolling through images instead of strolling down aisles,
"trying" products via AR and VR, and having everything either
delivered to their door or packaged up for no-contact pickup.

In this story, we'll look at the latest online shopping trends
in the wake of COVID-19 and how technology is playing a role in
reshaping the way we shop.

Name: Michele Mosher Investopedia

Category: Business and Finance

Email: query-b026@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: Investopedia

Deadline: 7:00 PM EST - 16 July

Query:

Can a homeowner with homeowners insurance make a claim on an
electronics floater, and if the floater doesn't cover the full
replacement cost, can the homeowner then claim the remaining
amount on the homeowners standard policy to make up the
difference.

Here is a more specific scenario: a fire totaled half the house
and all electronics.

policy deductible = $1,000 policy limit = $100,000 RCV for
dwelling RCV electronics floater = $20,000 (TV, 2 PCs, 2 iPhones
listed on floater) electronics floater deductible = $1,000 Cost
to rebuild home = $200,000 Cost to replace electronics = $25,000

Can a homeowner claim the TV, 2 PCs, and 2 iPhones on their
electronics floater to get $19,000, and make a claim on the
standard policy for the remaining $6,000? the standard policy
has electronics coverage and each item on the standard policy
still has roughly $2,000 of sub-limit coverage available.

1) Please tell me a little about you in a precise, concise
manner. I'm not in need of reading someone's lengthy resume-like
description to learn of their expertise for being an excellent
source.

2) Please express, also in a precise, concise manner, the angle
in which you would most want to discuss this topic.

3) I am most seeking a general conversation about "Failure is
not fatal but failure to change might be," about our emotions,
decision making and behavior as it affects us professionally,
affects organizations and affects those areas if our personal
lives are a variable in that equation.

4) What I am not seeking - this quote as it relates specifically
to someone's work. No offense intended. :) It's just that
approach will not interest most readers. A general conversation
will.

5) I am seeking someone to briefly interview by email, maybe 3
or 4 questions. I am in need of someone who can interact quickly
and allow me to send them questions and return their replies by
Sunday afternoon, CT, so I can write Sunday evening and publish
next week.

6) I will also need a professional photo, not too small, not too
large, in focus, for the piece, sent in time.
