now permissible within the nation. In this regard, how does
Shariah law exactly fit within the domain of crypto trade --

permissible as per the Shariah code of finance? What is the
social, economic significance of this decision in your opinion?
(ii) Kelvyn Chuah, founder of SINEGY, the first Malaysian
digital asset exchange approved by Malaysia's securities
watchdog stated in an interview that there still exist
ambiguities tied to digital assets such as "regulated digital
asset trading is permissible while several non-compliant
activities are still disallowed." Could you please outline
whether these non-compliant activities lay directly in conflict
with Shariah law or are simply technical matters that need
polishing?
(iii) Is Shariah law compatible with the idea of digital asset
token issuance? Do you believe we will start to see cryptos
being made for middle-east specific finance products in the near
future?
(iv) Malaysian regulators may also be looking at having a
regulated digital asset derivatives market in the mid-term
future. Again, could you comment on the compliance aspect of
such offerings in regard to Shariah law?
