volume of calls into bank customer call centers surged. Many
customers who hadn't used digital banking were forced to, and
called in with basic questions on how to deposit a check or
submit a credit card application. Moreover, with branches

branch banker were diverted to a call center. In some cases,
banks staffed centers with branch bankers. Now, many experts
predict digital adoption to remain high, some branches to close
and those that remain to be used for delivering more complex
financial advice and services. I am looking for banks and
savings banks to share their call center experiences during the
Covid surge. I'm particularly looking for bankers to share if
this period is forcing or accelerating a change in how the call
center functions. For instance, will staff be more highly
trained, with the center functioning like a digital branch?
Will call center staffers be trained on sales, so that they can
follow up on digital leads? Will branch staffers handle less
routine functions -- and will routine branch functions be moved
to the call center?

marketing officers, as well as bank retail managers and call
