1) Summary: Do you really have to wear a mask on a plane?

Name: Chris Elliott The Washington Post

Category: Travel

Email: query-ayoj@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: The Washington Post

Deadline: 12:00 PM EST - 29 June

Query:

I'm working on a story about mask-wearing and seating capacity
on airplanes during the pandemic. I'd be interested in hearing
from experts who can talk about the airline's legal right to
require masks. Do passengers have to wear face masks now? Are
there exceptions? Now that some airlines are booking the middle
seats again, how does the mask-wearing issue change, if at all?
I'm also interested in anyone who has seen the new mask policies
enforced on a plane. Are airlines being strict about it, or are
they only requiring masks during boarding? Have you had any
conversations with crewmembers about the enforceability of the
mask rule?

Requirements:

Please read this before answering. I'd be very grateful if you
could send an initial response to my questions by email. Please
do not respond with a note that says you would like to be
considered for this story or want to set up a phone interview
with a source. I'm happy to consider you for this story. I've
included all of my questions in this query. Please take a minute
to briefly answer them. If a phone interview is necessary, I
will follow up right away. Kindly also include your full name
and a jargon-free, brief (two to three word) description of your
company or affiliation as you would like it to appear in the
article. I will do my absolute best to acknowledge that I
received your pitch and will make every effort to let you know
when the story appears. More information on my queries can be

Email: query-ayow@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: Picture the Magic

What are some of your best Disney Cruise tips for couples?

With or without kids, what are ways that couples can maximize
the enjoyment of their Disney Cruise vacation?

Looking for less obvious tips (beyond a blanket "get a massage"
together).

Would love little-known ways to save money, things to do, ways
to express affection, dining, etc

Requirements:

Must have sailed on a Disney Cruise, so please be ready to share
ship name and approximate sailing date.

3) Summary: American destinations that offer a European experience

Name: Chris Elliott USA Today

Category: Travel

Email: query-aypf@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: USA Today

Deadline: 7:00 PM EST - 30 June

Query:

I'm researching a story about U.S. destinations that offer a
European experience. Now that Europe is off-limits to American
visitors, some will be looking for a European experience for
their summer vacation. A good example of this would be Solvang,
Calif., which looks like a Danish city. I'm interested in
hearing from anyone who has swapped out their Europe trip for a
place like St. Augustine, Fla. I'd also love to hear from travel
experts on which U.S. cities give you the most European
experience, and why. In your opinion, is it worth trying to
duplicate a Europe vacation domestically? How hard is it?
