1) Summary: How to cope with little to no travel?Name: Blake Snow CNN
Category: TravelEmail: query-axwf@helpareporter.net
Media Outlet: CNN
Deadline: 7:00 PM MST - 26 June
Query:
I'm writing an article for wanderlusters and travel enthusiasts
who are having a hard time living in a smaller, quarantined, and
closed border world. I'm looking for advice and ideas to share
with this group in how they can best cope for the foreseeable,
if not indefinite future until travel returns to normal levels
(like 2019).
Requirements:
Please share no more than five pieces of advice you'd like me to
consider along with your name, location, and any linking
information you'd like to share. Requests for interview will be
ignored and if I like your perspective and need more info, I
will reach out. Thanks for considering.

Health experts on the future of travel after COVID. BIPOC
preferred if possible! Looking to answer the following:
1. If I find a really good deal on a flight, is that a good
enough reason to travel? Or is it still too risky? 2. Will it
ever be safe to take a cruise again? Or should we all stay away
from cruises given what we've seen so far? 3. Is AirBNB safe
like at all now? Or is it worse than a hotel because you're in
someone else's home? 4. Is going camping at a national park or
something the "safest" travel because there's so little contact?
5. If I get an AirBnB for fall, but want to cancel because I'm
scared, are there any protections in place for me? 6. At
minimum, what kind of hotel and flight changes from the norm can
we expect/hope for? Middle seats? Less interaction with hotel
staff? 7. If I got sick overseas, would I be prevented from
returning home to the US? 8. Is it ethically okay to go on
vacation come Fall? Given that COVID isn't completely eradicated
and that traveling is a luxury, is this something we should even
be doing, ethically? 9. Is it safe to use the bathroom on an
airplane? 10. What are the safest forms of travel vs the
riskiest? Like road trips, cruises, plane travel, train, etc?
11. Will I have to re-quarantine myself at home for 14 days
after traveling abroad? Is it recommended, from a doctor's
perspective to do so? 12. If I tested positive for COVID
antibodies or had it and recovered before my trip, will my
future travel and airline/vacation plans differ from those who
have not had it? 13. Is it safer to travel to other states in
the US or internationally? 14. What precautions should I take
while traveling to avoid getting sick? 15. Are pools, hot
tubs, spas, etc safe at hotels or when traveling? Does the
water/locker room facilities pose any extra risk?

Query:
Looking for formal fireworks events and other events in NYC for
July 4th. Must be an event virtually hosted by a company in or
physically in the five boroughs (or super close like in Yonkers
or Fort Lee, NJ).
Events should all be safe and have social distancing protocols
in place like a drive-in movie, drive-in-concert, outdoor live
music with social distancing set in place in a park, an eating
contest, etc.
Virtual events hosted by famous NYC venues are also fine to
pitch, like a music venue streaming a concert on the 4th or a
Broadway show having a virtual performance.
Please send with numbers and stick to formatting exactly: 1.
Name of event, address, phone number, website, time it is taking
place and date (should be 7/4 or that weekend), price to attend
(free events are fine), (address / phone not relevant for
virtual) 2. Brief blurb 4-5 sentences on what the event is and,
if in person, how it will be hosted safely (i.e., masks
required, markers to designate seats on lawn six-feet apart,
etc.). Please add colorful details where possible. If food is
available, please specify. 3. Contact email for photo department
and if you have them Dropbox link or Google drive link to photos
if you have them of event in years past or relevant pictures
(i.e., if the event is a concert, a pic of a crowded venue makes
no sense right now, but an up-close of the band playing might
work).
Requirements:
Please follow formatting exactly as requested to be considered.
