7) Summary: Seeking UK-crypto experts to comment on the FCA's recent announcement regarding biz registrations

Name: Shiraz jagati Cointelegraph

Category: High Tech

Email: query-ay1w@helpareporter.net

Media Outlet: Cointelegraph

Deadline: 3:00 PM EST - 24 June

Query:

Greetings Haro family,

I am a Cointelegraph journo currently working on a piece
regarding the FCA's latest announcement requiring crypto firms
to register with the govt watchdog by the end of this month. Was
looking to get some insights in regard to the following
questions:

(i) The United Kingdom's Financial Conduct Authority has urged
all national cryptocurrency businesses to submit their
registration documents with the regulatory watchdog by the 30th
of June. In this regard, could you please outline some of the
intricacies involved with this process and what exactly it is
that needs to be done in order to complete the registration?

(ii) In the case of a business failing to register itself with
the FCA by the end of the grace period (i.e. Jan 10, 2021), how
will customer operations be affected? Do people stand to lose
their funds or at least lose control over them much like the
recent EPayments case?

(iii) The FCA has warned that it will proactively supervise
firms' compliance with the new regulations, and will take swift
action where firms fall short of desired standards. Could you
please outline some of these newer, stricter standards that have
been outlined by the watchdog?

(iv) Please feel free to add any more details in relation to the
matter that you may see fit.

For your time, we will be more than happy to add your name,
company details, etc in the piece. However, i am not permitted
to add any backlinks - afterall Cointelegraph is an independent
publishing house.

Looking forward to your responses.

Regards

Requirements:

Comments should ideally come from crypto experts/biz owners
operating within the United Kingdom.
